Thomas the Tank Engine and his Friends regularly visit Trainworks.

On our Day Out With Thomas events you can meet the life-size Thomas the Tank Engine, take a genuine steam train ride and meet Thomas' other friends like Toby the Rail Motor, Henry and The Fat Controller.

Activities usually also include:

  • Unlimited access to the mini train rides
  • Full-size steam train ride with one of Thomas' friends
  • Thomas movie station
  • Unlimited access to the jumping castles
  • Inflatable slide
  • Face painting
  • Story telling
  • Photo opportunities with Thomas
  • Trainworks entry

A Day Out With Thomas at Trainworks is a great day out for every generation of the family and includes access to ALL of the Trainworks exhibits, use of the BBQ facility, and free parking at Thirlmere.

The prices are

Adult $35 | Concession $30 | Child(aged 2-16) $25

Children under 2 are admitted free of charge but must sit on an adults lap during the train ride

Tickets are available from reception on the day but are subject to availability. Train rides can sell out in advance. If this happens, tickets to Trainworks including all the Thomas activities, but without the train ride are available. These tickets are normal admission plus a $10 surcharge per person.
